Where Every Student Is Known

Since 1978, The Hudson School has offered a rigorous, relevant PreK–12 education in the heart of Hoboken — where students are truly known, deeply challenged, and inspired to think independently.

A Message from Our Head of School

Welcome to The Hudson School

Since 1978, The Hudson School has opened its doors to students who are curious, capable, and ready to stretch themselves. As a small school in the heart of Hoboken, we offer something families consistently tell us is hard to find: students are truly known here.

Our teachers understand how each child learns, where they need encouragement, and when to push them a little further. That kind of attention changes what school feels like.

Our Foundations

Courage, Compassion, Commitment

Three core values guide everything we do at The Hudson School — from the classroom to the community.

Courage

Our students constantly demonstrate the physical, mental, and moral strength to persevere. From theatrical productions to community marches, Hudson students step outside their comfort zones every day.

Compassion

Compassion is at the core of life at Hudson. Through spirited discussion, vigorous debate, and extraordinary community service, students experience the power of kindness in all they do.

Commitment

A commitment to noble causes, academic endeavors, and personal integrity is central to a THS education. Hudson students develop the skills and willingness to work for a more humane, civil, and just world.

The students care about doing well and are encouraged to try new experiences. Both of my boys enjoyed their first experience acting on stage at Hudson because theater is built into the curriculum.
